What is Fufu?

Fufu is a dough made from food crops like cassava, yam, plantain etc. It is a staple of Sub-Saharan African Cuisine. Usually Fufu is made by boiling the aforementioned food crops, then the food crops are pounded in a mortar with a pestle to make the Fufu.

How Do You Make Fufu with Flour?

To make Fufu using the Fufu flour for four servings, use 24 oz of fufu flour and 36 oz of water.

The first step will consist of heating up the water until it is boiled, then proceed to add the flour. Stir the flour while gradually adding it to the water.
After you are done adding the flour to the boiled water, keep stirring until you have a thick uniform consistency.

For the next step you will need a deep plate in which you should have a little bit of water. Put the flour-water mix into the deep plate. You can start molding the mixture by hand with the help of a pestle, to form your fufu into a ball.
Now that your fufu is ready, enjoy it with the stew or soup of your liking.
